Summer League is the loudest week on the Vegas calendar that nobody outside the basketball industry sees. From Friday July 10 through Monday July 20, 2026, every NBA franchise plus a fleet of G-League affiliates, agents, scouts, capologists, podcasters, and broadcast crews compresses into the city around UNLV's Cox Pavilion and Thomas and Mack Center. Games run morning to night. Dinner reservations are how the actual work happens. The locker rooms shut down by ten and the conversation moves to a banquette at Carbone or a corner booth at SW Steakhouse. That is where draft trades, second-contract negotiations, and "I will get you a meeting with my client" all play out across one ribeye and a bottle of Sassicaia.
The dining math
Strip restaurants close to UNLV book full for the week by mid-June every year. That is not Vegas hyperbole. It is a real capacity ceiling. The Cosmopolitan, Aria, and Wynn properties absorb most of the front-office traffic because that is where the team hotels are. Within those properties, the rooms that matter for league week are Carbone at Aria (the unofficial league-week dining room. Every franchise's senior basketball ops people end up there at least once), SW Steakhouse at Wynn (lake-side patio, the discreet table for the conversations that need to stay off-record), Mother Wolf at Fontainebleau (the newest premium-Italian arrival; bookable but tightening fast), Beauty and Essex at Cosmopolitan (closest to the arena footprint; the room for the bigger entourage), and Yellowtail at Bellagio (the room for the actual deals. Quieter than Carbone, sushi-omakase pacing, fountain-view banquettes).
Nightclub overlay
Summer League nights run later than regular Strip weekends because the player and agent presence shifts the music programming. OMNIA at Caesars runs its strongest residency lineup on Summer League weekends. LIV Nightclub at Fontainebleau anchors the newer-property scene. XS at Encore is where the agents and capologists actually go after dinner. Quieter than the Strip mega-clubs but still hosting global-DJ headliners. For tables: minimum spend ladders climb 30 to 50 percent above a normal July weekend. Book the room, not the table tier. The placement matters more than the bottle count.
Viewing parties and secondary dining
Plenty of basketball people in town are not credentialed for the arenas. The viewing room of choice is Bottled Blonde Las Vegas for the late games (Cox Pavilion late slots regularly tip after 10 PM local), and LAVO Italian at Palazzo for the dinner-pivot crowd. Brunches the next morning at Beauty and Essex or Catch at Aria absorb the off-night recovery. These are not reservations you want to wing.
