Masayoshi · Restaurant · Vancouver
A one-Michelin-star omakase counter where chef Masayoshi Baba plates the season, one edomae piece at a time.
Masayoshi is a one-Michelin-star omakase counter on the Fraserhood and Kensington stretch of Fraser Street, set a deliberate distance from Vancouver's downtown core. Chef Masayoshi Baba trained in Japan's Yamaguchi and Fukuoka prefectures, then spent roughly a decade in Vancouver under the legendary Hidekazu Tojo before opening his own room. The restaurant holds around 16 seats split between a seven-seat sushi bar and a few tables, which is what makes the counter seats worth chasing. Service runs two seatings a night, generally at 6:00 and 8:30, T
