Supper club-inspired Loop steakhouse serving Linz Heritage USDA Prime Black Angus beef
Prime & Provisions is a steakhouse at 222 North LaSalle Street in the Loop, drawing its inspiration from the supper clubs of the early 20th century. It opened in 2015, closed after a kitchen fire in November 2025, and reopened on July 18, 2026, with that supper club feel intact.
The beef is the reason to come. The kitchen serves 100 percent all-natural Linz Heritage USDA Prime Black Angus, humanely raised with no hormones or antibiotics, and ages it in a dry-aging room lined with Himalayan rock salt. Steaks are seared in a 1,200 degree broiler and finished with Wisconsin grass-fed butter.
The 45-day dry-aged cuts include a 22 oz. bone-in ribeye, an 18 oz. bone-in Kansas City strip and a 36 oz. center-cut porterhouse. The 28-day wet-aged side brings a 10 oz. signature-cut filet mignon and a 34 oz. tomahawk, and A5 Japanese wagyu is sold by the 4 oz. portion. Thick-cut bacon with Michigan maple syrup and dark chocolate is flared tableside, and a shellfish tower and Dover sole cover the seafood side.
Lunch runs weekdays from 11 AM to 3 PM. The dining room is open Monday through Wednesday until 9:30 PM, Thursday until 10 PM and Friday until 10:30 PM, with Saturday service from 4 PM to 10:30 PM and Sunday from 4 PM to 9 PM. Live music plays in the bar area on Thursday from 5 PM to 7:30 PM and on Friday and Saturday from 6:30 PM to 9 PM. Reservations open 60 days in advance.
