River North steakhouse with dry-aged and Wagyu cuts, sister to RPM Italian
RPM Steak brought the RPM name to River North steak in 2014, an updated take on the classic steakhouse and the sister restaurant to RPM Italian and RPM Seafood. Where the Italian sibling runs on pasta, this room runs on beef, with nearly two dozen cuts sourced from butchers around the world.
Private dining runs across three rooms that can be combined for larger groups, and the bar can be taken over for a reception. The wine list is long, with sommelier selections that run from Champagne to Bordeaux and Napa Valley.
The 16 oz New York Strip is dry-aged 28 days ($108), and the 42 oz Westholme Wagyu Tomahawk from Queensland ($270) is the headline cut for a table to share, with Japanese Wagyu such as Matsusaka and Kobe offered by the ounce. Sides include the Millionaire's Potato with Fontina and shaved black truffle ($22), Bacon Mac & Cheese ($18) and Crispy Brussels Sprouts with curry vinaigrette ($13). Open with the RPM Crab Cake with lime soy glaze ($36) or a chilled seafood tower, and close with the 14K Chocolate Cake ($17) or a Baked Alaska flambeed tableside for two to four.
