Carajillo Masaryk sits near the top of Avenida Presidente Masaryk in Polanco, one of four Mexico City locations for the Carajillo restaurant. Corporate chef Juan Arroyo, who has three decades in Mexico City kitchens, built the menu around the coffee and liqueur drink that gives the restaurant its name. The bar treats carajillo as a full category: the classic Licor 43 and espresso pour sits alongside author versions such as the rabbit themed Conejo, a Toledo built on Torres mazapan and raspberry syrup, a Horchata con fresa, and a Churro finished with Jack Daniel's Honey.
The kitchen works Mexican ingredients through a raw bar and grill. Sopes of blue corn come stuffed with escamoles and bone marrow, soft shell crab arrives with esquites, and there are tuna and beef carpaccios alongside a cazuela of escamoles in butter. Mains run from Angus arrachera and a bone in ribeye to the Filete Tapatio, a 500 gram filet flambeed tableside with Don Julio Cenizo tequila, plus a hamburguesa carajillo and a pescado zarandeado with esquite risotto.
There is no minimum consumption and tipping is optional, per the restaurant's own posted policy.
