Cicatriz is the all-day cafe on Dinamarca that helped set the tone for what Colonia Juarez became. Opened and run by American owners Scarlet and Jake, it works from nine in the morning until midnight every day of the week, sliding from coffee and breakfast into a wine-bar evening without ever changing its character.
The menu is short and American inflected rather than Mexican: meatballs, a fried chicken sandwich, avocado toast, salads and a rotating handful of specials. The wine list is the other half of the appeal, weighted toward natural and low-intervention bottles, and it is a large part of why the room stays full with the neighborhood's design, media and restaurant crowd.
