Elia Estiatorio takes its name from elaia, the Greek word for olive, and it is the most convincing Greek dining room in Mexico City. It sits on the plaza level of Arcos Bosques in Bosques de las Lomas, and the interiors were handled by the architecture studio Sordo Madaleno, who kept it pale, low and relaxed rather than themed, so the room reads luxurious without shouting about the Aegean.
Executive chef Carlos Teran Rodriguez arrived with fifteen years in luxury hotel and restaurant kitchens including Rosewood and Four Seasons, and his approach is to build Greek dishes out of Mexican produce while importing the things that cannot be substituted.
