Elia Estiatorio is one of the most convincing Greek dining rooms in Mexico City. It sits on the ground floor of Arcos Bosques, the shopping center on Paseo de los Tamarindos in Bosques de las Lomas, and the interiors were handled by the architecture studio Sordo Madaleno, who built the room around a concept they named Greece on Earth: pale stone, low light and a relaxed layout instead of an overtly themed dining room, so it reads luxurious without shouting about the Aegean.
Executive chef Carlos Teran Rodriguez built the menu around Greek classics made with local ingredients. Tzatziki is made in house, grilled octopus arrives over Santorini fava, and whole sea bass is baked in a salt crust and opened tableside. Gyros and flatbreads round out a menu built for sharing across the table, in keeping with the estiatorio format, the Greek term for a proper sit-down dining room, not a quick taverna.
Lunch runs long here and the kitchen stays open until 1 AM from Monday to Saturday, with a shorter Sunday service that closes at 6 PM.
