Hotaru Arcos is a contemporary sushi bar inside Arcos Bosques in Bosques de las Lomas, branded as the Speakeasy: a dark, intimate room built around the counter, set apart from the mall traffic. It is one of six Hotaru rooms, alongside sister locations in Lomas, Mitikah, Monterrey, Puebla and Madrid, built on the same brief: intimate, provocative, unique.
The kitchen buys fish and shellfish from Japan, Spain, New Zealand, Iceland, Scotland, Alaska, Canada and both Mexican coasts, and the menu keeps the focus on that raw material. Nigiri anchors the counter, alongside rolls such as the Tiger Roll and the red dragon roll, crispy taquitos, and hamachi sashimi with serrano. Seating at the counter puts diners close to the block, watching each piece cut and finished before it is served.
Service starts at one in the afternoon every day and runs to one in the morning on Friday and Saturday, with a shorter Sunday service that ends at six in the evening. The counter format suits solo diners as well as it does pairs.
