La Buena Barra - Polanco · Restaurant · Mexico City
Polanco terrace for mezcal flamed prime cuts
La Buena Barra is Grupo Barra's Mexico City flagship, a rooftop level grill and seafood house on Aristoteles in the heart of Polanco. The group started in downtown Monterrey as La Barra Antigua, relaunched as La Buena Barra in San Pedro Garza Garcia in 2012, and opened the Polanco dining room in November 2013. The northern Mexican grill DNA is still the point: charcoal, salt blocks and chiles piquin.
The menu runs long. Openers include tuna tostadas, tiradito of tuna and hamachi, artichoke with piquin and a cazuela of escamoles. The taco section is a signature in itself, from rib eye tacos with a crisp cheese crust to short rib and confit suckling pig. Prime cuts arrive as cana de filete or rib eye flamed with mezcal over a salt block, alongside porterhouse, agujas nortenas, Josper cooked
