Quattro Gastronomia Italiana is the Mexico City edition of a northern Italian restaurant made famous in Miami Beach by the Carro brothers, twins Fabrizio and Nicola, who grew up in Alessandria in Piedmont. The New York Times once described the original as a place frequented by European high society, and the room inside the JW Marriott Santa Fe carries the same brief.
The kitchen, guided by chef Stefano Ferrero, builds the menu around house-made pasta, Mediterranean seafood and Angus Prime cuts, with risotto, whole fish and a daily grill announced tableside rather than printed. Beyond the core carta a rotating regional menu moves up and down Italy with the seasons; from November it turns to Piedmont and the white truffle of Alba, with a wine director handling pairings.
