Samos, listed in full as Samos Sabores Mios, sits on the thirty eighth floor of The Ritz-Carlton Mexico City on Paseo de la Reforma. The room is glass on almost every side and the view runs across Chapultepec park and the castle to the western skyline, with a terrace edged in tall glass panels for anyone who wants the drop without the wind. Carlotta, the hotel's rooftop cocktail bar, shares the floor.
The kitchen is led by chef Nayeli Caballero, and the hotel describes the menu as contemporary Mexican cuisine built on local ingredients and seasonality. A roasted portobello tlayuda with refried beans, grilled portobello, watermelon radish, marinated tofu and avocado is one of the dishes that carries that approach, alongside a raw bar with a Pacific black aguachile and a breakfast menu of chilaquiles, bean tlacoyos and egg dishes.
Service runs from breakfast through dinner every day, seven in the morning to eleven at night, which makes it one of the few rooms in the city where the same view works at sunrise and at night. Dress is casual.
