Grupo Zeru's Basque grill house on a Lomas de Chapultepec terrace
Zeru is the Basque grill restaurant that Grupo Zeru operates in Lomas de Chapultepec, at Monte Everest 635, an address it shares with the group's own pastry concept Pedazo de Cielo. Grupo Zeru also runs Zeru San Angel elsewhere in the city, and has since taken the concept abroad, opening Zeru in the Brickell neighborhood of Miami as the group's first international location.
The Lomas dining room is built around a custom asador: a grill more than four meters wide and weighing about a ton, insulated to hold consistent heat, set in view of the tables. An extensive terrace runs alongside it, built by the group to evoke Basque coastal dining.
Chef Israel Aretxiga runs the kitchen on Basque terms, working national and imported fish and shellfish chosen for quality first and grilled simply, backed by the group's Basque-rooted repertoire of rices and shared plates. A craft cocktail program with premium spirits and exclusive selections rounds out the bar, and the restaurant holds private dining for groups.
Zeru Lomas serves lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday from 1 to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. Book Zeru Lomas through the OpenTable button on this page.
