Greek-accented Mediterranean beach restaurant on Pampelonne Beach in Ramatuelle
Shellona brought its Saint-Barthelemy beach restaurant to Pampelonne Beach in 2017, setting up on Chemin des Tamaris in Ramatuelle. The look is bohemian and natural, and much of the day plays out in the shade of its large pergola on the beach. It opens for the warm months, from spring into fall.
The kitchen is led by Executive Greek Chef Yiannis Kioroglou, and the menu travels from Amalfi lemons to the Cyclades under the house motto Sharing is Caring. Plates land in the middle of the table: a trio of taramosalata, hummus and tzatziki, feta wrapped in filo with honey, grilled octopus, and prawn saganaki in a tomato, ouzo and fennel sauce. A robata bar turns out chicken, spicy lamb and beef fillet skewers, and the chef's signature truffle pasta is served for two or more.
The music takes its cue from Ibiza and Mykonos, with live bands and DJs setting the pace as a long lunch drifts into the afternoon. The same setting is used for private parties and events.
