Les Caves du Roy is the nightclub of the Hotel Byblos, set on Avenue Foch in Saint-Tropez. It opened in July 1967, only weeks after the Byblos itself was inaugurated with Brigitte Bardot and Mireille Darc as its godmothers, and it has drawn night owls and famous faces from around the world ever since.
The room has a subtle oriental feel, and its illuminated palm trees are the image regulars know it by. DJ Jack.E, the club's resident, sets the tone from the booth, and the mood is festive and laid-back, much as it has been for more than 50 years. The Byblos lists the club at 540 guests, and the night runs until 5am.
The club keeps a seasonal calendar: Friday and Saturday nights in spring and again in September, every night through the height of summer, and a final weekend in early October. The whole club can also be hired for cocktail receptions, product launches, fashion shows and private events.
