Mastro's City Hall · Restaurant · Scottsdale
The original Mastro's Steakhouse, open in Old Town Scottsdale since 2002.
Mastro's City Hall has held its Old Town Scottsdale address since 2002, taking on its current steakhouse identity in 2007. The dining room runs on understated elegance: hand-blown glass chandeliers by artist Newt Grover, white-clothed tables, leather booths, and candlelit corners that shift from intimate to lively as the evening builds. A live piano bar plays seven nights a week and anchors the back lounge, while a smaller outdoor patio strung with lights catches Scottsdale's mild desert evenings.
The kitchen makes its name on wet-aged USDA Prime steaks seared in a 1,500-degree broiler and plated on 450-degree surfaces so they arrive sizzling. The Tomahawk Chop (32 oz., $215) and the Bone-In Filet (14 oz., $90) do the heavy lifting, with seafood right behind: the Shrimp Cocktail ($31) and Chilled Red King Crab Legs ($23) set the high marks, and the Bigeye Tuna Tartare ($25) and Lobster Mashed Potatoes add refinement. Non-steak options like the Double Cut Pork Chop (16 oz., $53) and Wild Mushroom and Black Truffle Gnocchi ($30) round out the menu, and the Signature Personal Warm Butter Cake closes the meal molten with vanilla bean ice cream.
The wine list runs deep and the bar program favors classic construction over trend. Hours run Sunday through Thursday 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday and Saturday 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with the lounge open daily from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Dress is business casual, with no athletic wear, tank tops, or hats.
