Miku sits on the Coal Harbour waterfront at the foot of Granville Street, the room that introduced flame-seared aburi sushi to Canada. It opened in 2008 as the first restaurant to bring the aburi style to Vancouver, later moving to this landmark spot, and it carries a Michelin Guide listing for the city. Floor-to-ceiling glass looks out over the inlet toward Canada Place and the North Shore mountains.
Owner Seigo Nakamura built the aburi concept here: fish lightly seared over binchotan charcoal, brushed with house sauces that caramelize under the flame and release a soft smoke you can catch across the room.
