Astoux et Brun is the seafood institution of Cannes, on the corner of Rue Felix Faure and Rue Louis Blanc, a few steps from the Vieux Port and the Marche Forville. Three generations in, it is still the address locals and visitors alike name first for oysters and a proper plateau de fruits de mer.
It started in 1953 as a simple shellfish stall that Maurice Astoux worked on this corner. The Brun family joined and added the idea that made the name: tasting oysters and shellfish on the spot, standing up, with a glass of cold white. In 1988 the son, Jacky, bought the neighboring premises and installed a full kitchen, and the stall became the bustling brasserie it is today.
