Anna is a Greek restaurant at 63 Boulevard de la Croisette, in the center of the Croisette in Cannes. Chef Yiannis Kioroglou, partner and executive chef, comes from Athens and cooked across Europe, from the French Riviera to Naples and Tuscany, before building a menu here around the long, shared summer tables of his childhood: Greek classics next to recipes he has reworked, cooked in the oven, over coals or on the grill.
Grilled octopus, htapodi sti sxara, is the dish the house tells guests not to miss, alongside a traditional choriatiki salad with Kalamata olives, sea bass ceviche, prawns cooked with tomato and ouzo, and grilled lamb chops marinated with Kalamata olives. Spreads include tzatziki, hummus and tarama, with pita on the side, and the catch of the day is sold by weight and served raw, as tartare or grilled whole.
Madrid studio Cousi Interiorismo designed the room to suggest Greece without cliches: a fabric-covered ceiling, a terrazzo floor that recalls beach pebbles and plaster wall sconces that nod to traditional Greek craft. The soundtrack mixes Greek melodies with current tunes, and the rounded bar pours ouzo cocktails before dinner and long after it.
Anna is open every day, with lunch from noon to 3 p.m., dinner from 7 p.m. to midnight and the bar until 2:30 a.m. Aperitifs with mezedes on the terrace are an easy start to the evening, and the restaurant hosts private events for groups of 20 or more.
