Carlton Beach Club is the private beach of the Carlton Cannes, on the sand in front of the hotel at 58 Boulevard de la Croisette. It opened in 1930, when the hotel won the concession for the plot facing its doors, and it was the first private beach in Cannes. In 1954 Alfred Hitchcock filmed Grace Kelly and Cary Grant here for To Catch a Thief.
Guests choose between sunbeds on the sand and the famous central pontoon, which looks across the Mediterranean toward the Esterel massif. The beach runs daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and from the pontoon a water-sports team offers parasailing, water skiing, wakeboarding and towed rides.
The restaurant serves a sunny, simple and generous kitchen, with lunch from noon to 4 p.m. and dinner from 7 to 10 p.m. The 2026 menu runs from tuna crudo and Dublin Bay prawn tartare to whole grilled sea bass, sole and Black Angus ribeye, with Casparian caviar and linguine alle vongole. The bar pours signature cocktails such as the 1930, with gin, Suze, lemon, bay leaf and champagne.
