Luigi sits at 24 Rue Latour-Maubourg in Cannes, a short walk back from the Croisette. The doors here first opened in 1956, and the room was renamed Luigi in 2021 after a full redesign by Paris architect Fabrizio Casiraghi. It runs as an Italian restaurant, piano bar and late club in one, so dinner moves easily into a long night.
The central room is built around Lalique glass, a restored bar in Riva wood and a glowing ceiling. Early in the evening a pianist and musicians keep jazz going through dinner; later a DJ takes over and the room turns into a place to dance until the early hours.
Chef Geraldine Rapp's kitchen starts guests with an aperitivo and the house Bellini, then antipasti such as vitello tonnato and burrata with cherry tomatoes, olives and basil. The real decision comes next: pasta or veal. Lobster linguine and truffle calamarata sit on one side, the Milanese veal chop with arugula and parmesan on the other, and the dolci are a point of pride.
Luigi opens at 8 p.m. from Wednesday to Sunday, and on Mondays and Tuesdays during congresses. The space can also be taken over in full or in part for seated dinners, cocktail receptions and launches.
