Tetou has been a Riviera fish house since 1917, run by the same family across five generations. In 2026 it returned on the Croisette at Port Pierre Canto, in the former L'Ecrin at Pointe Croisette, with the bay and the Lerins Islands in front of the tables.
The story starts on the beach at Golfe-Juan, where Ernest Cirio, known as Tetou, a fisherman and navy cook, built a wooden cabin with his wife Pauline and served his bouillabaisse. Chaplin, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Orson Welles and President Truman all came through. The Littoral Law closed the Golfe-Juan restaurant in 2018, and the family spent eight years searching before settling here.
The new room sits at sea level, designed by interior architect Samy Chams, and the blue-and-white striped awning has been recreated. Bouillabaisse is still the reason to come, served for a minimum of two, with or without spiny lobster. Grilled spiny lobster, whole local fish such as sea bass, John Dory and turbot with a house sauce or sauce vierge, and Provencal tomatoes carry the rest of the menu, with house-made jams and beignets for dessert.
Tetou is open every day from 10 a.m. to midnight. The bar lounge welcomes everyone, for a morning coffee, a light lunch or a sunset drink, and sea-facing sunbeds can be reserved on the private beach.
