The 1917 Cannes fish house, now on the sand at Port Canto
Tetou has been a Cannes fish house since 1917, run by the same family across five generations. In May 2026 it moved onto Port Pierre Canto at the far end of the Croisette, taking over the beachfront site that was L'Ecrin Plage.
The room is the blue-and-white striped Riviera original rather than an interpretation of one: awnings, cane chairs, white linen, and a wall of glass that opens straight onto the sand and the bay. Tables at the front look down the beach toward the Esterel.
The cooking has not moved much in a century, which is the point. Bouillabaisse is the order most people come for, served in the traditional two-service format. Grilled lobster, whole local fish and Provencal tomatoes carry the rest of the menu, and the jams and pastries are still made in house.
