Bar des Pres is a French-Japanese restaurant from chef Cyril Lignac on the 51st floor of ICD Brookfield Place in DIFC. It is the Dubai outpost of a concept Lignac built in Paris, and the menu describes itself as a marriage of French technique and Japanese ingredients, not a straight sushi room or a straight bistro.
The restaurant sits high in the DIFC tower, one of several dining rooms Lignac has opened in this format across different cities, with a bar and a dining floor built for both a business lunch crowd and a later dinner scene. The raw bar and tartare section carries yellowtail tartare with green jalapeno cream and avocado, tuna tartare with Korean spices, and a Japanese wagyu tartare with chimichurri and fried onions, alongside a king crab preparation finished with Oscietra caviar. The sushi and sashimi counter runs from salmon and yellowtail through chutoro and otoro, and the cooked side includes a flamed Australian wagyu carpaccio with ponzu and daikon and a wagyu sando finished with furikake. The bar runs its own cocktail list built around sake, yuzu and umeboshi.
Lunch runs from noon to 3 PM and dinner from 6:30 PM to 1 AM, seven days a week, with the last seating at 11 PM most nights. Reservations run through the restaurant's own SevenRooms page and are open up to 60 days ahead, worth using for weekend dinner given the DIFC crowd it draws.
