Kinugawa sits poolside at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab on Umm Suqeim 3, Jumeirah Road, with sightlines to the Burj Al Arab. It is the Dubai debut of a Japanese restaurant group that started in Paris, with sister houses in Ramatuelle, Megeve, Courchevel and Saint-Barthelemy. The address opened in March 2025 alongside the hotel, the brand's first in the UAE.
The room is built around a circular pool, with warm-toned wood, suspended lighting and coral hues that shift with the light through the day. Seating runs from the dining room out to poolside tables, carrying the same Paris-meets-Tokyo language as the group's other houses: precise lines softened by natural materials, a warmer register than the usual lacquer-and-neon Japanese dining room.
Head chef Konstantin Em, a decade into refining his craft, pairs Japanese technique with French sensibility. Cold starters include Toro Tartare with caviar and a Suzuki Stracciatella of sea bass carpaccio with stracciatella and raspberry; Hamachi Yuzu carpaccio and a Tuna Blueberry salad lean on yuzu-forward dressings. From the robata, Black Cod Miso and a Wagyu A5 sirloin anchor the mains, next to a King Crab pizza and a Golden Chirashi built to share.
Dress runs smart casual for lunch and elegant after dark, and pool access shifts to 16 and over past 7pm. Dinner runs Friday through Sunday, 6pm to midnight, with a lighter pool-and-lunch rhythm through the Dubai summer before full service returns each October.
