Kinugawa Ramatuelle is the summer address of Kinugawa, the Japanese restaurant with homes in Paris, Megeve, Courchevel and Dubai, set on the Route des Plages in Ramatuelle on the Saint-Tropez peninsula. Each summer it opens in the open air, with lush greenery and pines framing the tables, bringing the spirit of Tokyo to the Mediterranean.
The menu reworks Kinugawa signatures with Mediterranean influences. Cold starters include toro tartare with caviar, Wagyu tataki with yuzu miso and summer truffle, yellowtail carpaccio with yuzu and green pepper, and a ceviche trio of sea bream with jalapeno, tuna with blueberry and calamansi, and salmon with miso. From the hot side come miso-glazed eggplant, Wagyu gyoza, crispy rice with spicy salmon tartare and a King Crab pizza.
Mains run from miso-marinated black cod and Chilean sea bass with yuzu shiso to lamb chops and beef fillet with shiso bearnaise, while the robata grill handles whole wild sea bass, spiny lobster and Kagoshima A5 Wagyu sirloin to share. Sushi, sashimi and rolls fill out the table alongside a refined wine selection, and desserts include ice mochi and a strawberry and matcha tart.
Kinugawa Ramatuelle opens every evening from 7:30 p.m. through the summer season, with valet parking on site. Groups of more than 30 are arranged as private events.
