Italian cooking on a Fashion Avenue terrace facing the Dubai Fountain
GIA sits on the ground floor of Fashion Avenue at the Dubai Mall, with a terrace that opens directly onto the Burj Khalifa lake. Tables along the rail look straight down at the fountain, and the room empties toward the glass for each show before filling back in once the water settles.
GIA runs a straightforward, classic Italian kitchen: pizza comes out of the wood oven, pasta is made in house, and the rest of the menu runs through antipasti, grilled meat and fish. The white truffle risotto and the seafood linguine are the kitchen's stated seasonal favorites.
The mall setting makes GIA one of the few rooms in this part of Downtown that works for a long lunch, an afternoon in the mall, and a later table on the same visit, with both an indoor dining room and the rail-side terrace to choose from.
Ask for a terrace table when you book. The indoor dining room is comfortable and considerably quieter, but the fountain is the reason most people are here, and terrace seats go first on weekends and through the fountain-show hours.
