A 15-seat chef's table on an Al Satwa rooftop, with one MICHELIN star.
moonrise is chef Solemann Haddad's 15-seat chef's table on the roof of Eden House in Al Satwa, and it holds one MICHELIN star. There is one menu, it is set, and the kitchen is directly across the counter from you.
The restaurant sits on the rooftop of a residential building in Jumeirah Garden City, which is an unusual address for a room at this level and a large part of why it feels the way it does. Guests sit together at a single counter rather than at separate tables.
The cooking is a 12-course degustation rooted in the Middle East and told through a global lens, with a 12-course vegetarian version available on the same terms. Haddad works with artisans and growers well beyond the region, so the menu moves with what they send rather than sitting still. The OG Moonrise Grilled Cheese has stayed on it throughout.
With 15 seats and two seatings a night, this is the hardest table in this group to land. Service runs Tuesday through Saturday with seatings at 6 pm and 9:30 pm. Book online as far ahead as the calendar allows, and arrive on time, because the counter starts together.
