Best Sushi and Japanese Restaurants in Las Vegas 2026
Our ranked guide to the best sushi and Japanese in Las Vegas for 2026, from Mizumi and Zuma to Wakuda's omakase counter, the tables we book most.
Why we wrote this guide
A quick honest note before the list: there is no such thing as a pure sushi bar on the Las Vegas Strip. Even Nobu, the most famous sushi name in the world, runs black cod, Chilean seabass, and a full hot kitchen alongside the sushi counter. The best Japanese rooms here are variety rooms, sushi plus robata, tempura, and serious cooked dishes, which is exactly what makes them worth the table. This is our ranked guide to the best sushi and Japanese restaurants in Las Vegas in 2026, built from the tables we book most. If you want a true single-counter omakase, we cover that too, at the end. Last updated September 2026.

The ranked guide
1. Mizumi (Wynn)
Wynn's refined Japanese room, with a waterfall-and-garden setting that is one of the prettiest dining rooms in the city. Sushi, teppanyaki, and robata under the Wynn service standard. Mizumi is our top pick for the best sushi and Japanese dinner on the Strip: the room, the fish, and the service all land at the same high level, so it is the one we point most guests to first. See Mizumi.
Best for: the refined, special-occasion Japanese dinner with a view.
2. Zuma (The Cosmopolitan)
Modern Japanese izakaya done at a very high level: the robata grill is the star, the sushi and sashimi are pristine, and the room has energy without tipping into a scene. Zuma is the move when you want contemporary Japanese with a buzz. See Zuma.
Best for: the lively, contemporary Japanese dinner.
3. Yellowtail (Bellagio)
Akira Back's Japanese room overlooking the Bellagio fountains. Modern sushi and Japanese with one of the better view tables on the Strip. Yellowtail is the fountain-view Japanese dinner. See Yellowtail.
Best for: a fountain-view Japanese dinner.
4. Wakuda (The Venetian)
Chef Tetsuya Wakuda's modern Japanese room at The Venetian, and one of the most serious sushi tickets on the Strip. A polished dining room, a sushi counter, and a private omakase off the main dining floor for the guest who wants the chef-led, piece-by-piece experience. Wakuda is the pick when you want refined modern Japanese with real omakase pedigree without leaving the resort corridor. See Wakuda.
Best for: refined modern Japanese with a true omakase option.
5. Nobu (Caesars Palace)
The global benchmark, and the name most people mean when they say sushi in Vegas. Nobu Matsuhisa's signature style, the black cod miso, the yellowtail jalapeno, the new style sashimi, alongside a full sushi program. It is a complete Japanese restaurant, not just a sushi counter, which is the point. Book Nobu when you want the room everyone knows is great. See Nobu.
Best for: the safe, choice; first-timers and regulars alike.
6. Komodo (Fontainebleau)
A Southeast-Asian-leaning room with a strong sushi and raw program, big energy, and a menu built for sharing. Komodo is the group pick when you want Japanese-and-beyond in a high-energy setting. See Komodo.
Best for: the group dinner with energy and a wide table.
7. Catch (Aria)
Seafood-forward and see-and-be-seen, with a strong sushi and roll program inside a high-energy room. Catch is the pick when the night is as much about the scene as the fish. The crowd skews younger and the room runs late. See Catch.
Best for: the scene dinner that rolls into the night.
8. Tao Asian Bistro (The Venetian)
The pan-Asian institution: a wide menu spanning sushi, Chinese, and Thai inside the most famous Asian-dining-and-nightlife address in the city. Tao is the pick when the group wants variety and an easy walk into the night at the Venetian. See Tao Asian Bistro.
Best for: the variety-menu group dinner that pairs with a night out.
9. Fuhu (Resorts World)
A playful, design-forward pan-Asian room at Resorts World with a solid sushi and dim-sum-style sharing menu. Fuhu is the fun, younger-energy option on the north end of the Strip. See Fuhu.
Best for: the fun, design-forward group dinner at Resorts World.
If you want a true omakase counter
Everything in the ranked guide is a variety room. If what you actually want is a dedicated omakase, the chef setting the pace and serving you piece by piece, there are two names to know: Wakuda and Ito.
Wakuda runs a private omakase off its main dining room at The Venetian, a chef-led counter experience inside a room we already reserve, so it is the omakase we can set up for you directly. See Wakuda.
Ito is the other one worth knowing: an eight-seat counter on the top floor of the Fontainebleau, tucked inside the Poodle Room and overlooking the city. It is about as pure an omakase as the Strip gets. Ito books directly with the counter. If that is the night you want, you reserve it with the restaurant itself; we are glad to build the rest of the evening around it.
Best for: the sushi purist, the omakase occasion, the dinner where the counter is the whole experience.
How to choose, fast
The best sushi room overall: Mizumi.
Contemporary, lively, robata-forward: Zuma.
A fountain view: Yellowtail.
The safe choice: Nobu.
Scene dinner into the night: Catch or Komodo.
Group variety that pairs with a night out: Tao Asian Bistro or Fuhu.
A true omakase counter: Wakuda, or Ito (booked directly with the counter, not through us).
A note on what to order
Because these are variety rooms, the move at most of them is to split the table: a few signature cooked dishes (the black cod at Nobu, the robata at Zuma) plus a sushi and sashimi selection for the table. Tell your server you want a mix and let them guide the balance. If you want a pure sushi-and-sashimi meal, a dedicated omakase counter like Wakuda's is the cleaner fit than ordering around a variety menu.
How the booking works
Our hosts handle the timing and coordination of reservations you may not be able to secure yourself, plus the logistics before and after: the walk to the show or the club, a specific table, a quiet corner for a proposal, a cake at the end.
The process for you is short:
Tell us the night, the group size, and the room (or tell us the vibe and we will pick).
We come back quickly with the table, the time, and anything we can add.
You confirm. Restaurants do not take deposit links the way nightlife does; if a room needs anything beyond a standard request to hold a prime table, we set that expectation with you up front.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best sushi restaurant in Las Vegas?
Our pick is Mizumi at Wynn, the refined Japanese room with a waterfall-and-garden setting and sushi, teppanyaki, and robata under the Wynn service standard. For a dedicated omakase counter, Wakuda's private omakase (or Ito, booked directly with the counter) is the more focused sushi-purist experience. The right answer depends on whether you want a full Japanese dinner or a chef-led omakase.
Is there a true omakase in Las Vegas?
Yes. Wakuda runs a private, chef-led omakase off its main dining room, and Ito runs a standout eight-seat omakase counter on the top floor of the Fontainebleau, booked directly with the counter. The rooms in the ranked guide above are excellent but are variety restaurants, not single-counter omakase.
How much does a sushi dinner in Las Vegas cost?
A full dinner with sushi, a few cooked dishes, and drinks at a top Strip Japanese room is a premium check, and how much depends on the room and how much premium fish you order. A dedicated omakase runs higher and is priced as a set experience. We can give you a realistic per-head estimate for any specific room before you book.
Which is the best Japanese restaurant for a group?
Komodo, Tao Asian Bistro, and Catch all handle groups well with wide, shareable menus and energy. For a quieter refined group dinner, Mizumi or Yellowtail. Tell us the headcount and we will route the room that fits.
Do I need a reservation for sushi in Las Vegas?
For the rooms above, yes at prime time, especially on weekends. The omakase counters seat very few, so they book out furthest in advance. Tell us the night and we will lock in the right table.
How far in advance should I book?
For a standard weekend table at the variety rooms, 2 to 3 weeks. For an omakase counter or a major event weekend (F1, NYE, big conventions), 4 to 8 weeks. Weeknights are often available inside a week.
