Open-fire grill restaurant in a 300-year-old farmhouse in Can Palau, with views of Dalt Vila
Casa Maca sits in the hills of Can Palau, just outside Ibiza Town and a few minutes from the airport, inside a whitewashed farmhouse more than 300 years old that has been restored as a small rural hotel. The restaurant is open to everyone, not only hotel guests, and looks out to the old walls of Dalt Vila and the sea.
The kitchen fuses global cooking with local, organic ingredients, many of them grown on the property's own farm. Days start on the terrace, with breakfast from 8am until noon and a late breakfast menu until 2pm, and the main menu leans on the grill: Argentinian Black Angus fillet and entrecote, Wagyu cuts, a Nebraska ribeye and tomahawk, fish of the day, and grilled vegetables such as eggplant with miso and cauliflower with tahini and Ibiza almonds.
Evenings move outdoors to the open-air dining space beside the farm, built around a grill where meat, fish and farm-grown vegetables cook over an open fire. Live artists and DJs play chillout music with a world influence, and cocktails are poured from an aluminum Airstream bar.
The hotel stays open all year, while the restaurant closes for the winter. In season the kitchen runs from 8am until 1am.
