The Box turns a night out into theater, a cabaret and burlesque show club at 11-12 Walker's Court in Soho. It opened on February 9, 2011 in the former home of the Raymond Revuebar and calls itself a variety theater. A sister venue operates in Manhattan under the same name.
This is a show club first: acrobatics, burlesque and circus-style acts run through the night, worked around a rotating cast of performers, with the room shifting between seated dinner and stage show as the night goes on. The venue is candid about its own door policy: its own FAQ describes entry as "vibe multiplied by style divided by how many people you're with," and staff make the final call on dress once you arrive.
Doors run Wednesday through Saturday; the club is dark Sunday through Tuesday.
For private hire, the building holds up to 288 guests for a full event or 125 for a seated dinner, spread across three levels and about 7,000 square feet, with its own production team and in-house performance directors who build the acts for private shows.
