Mother Wolf fills the old Citizen News building at 1545 Wilcox Avenue with 200 seats of Roman grandeur, filtered through a Vegas kind of opulence: crimson velvet banquettes, gilded accents, vintage mythological murals, and soft, flattering light across a soaring, ballroom-like room.
Chef Evan Funke opened the Michelin-starred restaurant in 2022 around handmade Roman pastas and wood-fired pizzas built for communal feasting. The standouts are the Rigatoni all'Amatriciana with guanciale, tomato, and pecorino, the Fettuccine al Burro with prosciutto and parmigiano, and the blistered tonda Margherita.
