Kennedy Social Room sits inside Plaza Masaryk, on the stretch of Avenida Presidente Masaryk where Polanco keeps its most guarded nightlife. The room is small by club standards and built as a speakeasy, not a warehouse: low light, deep banquettes, brass and dark wood, and a booth close enough to the floor that the DJ works the room instead of performing above it. There are no screens and no stage, which is deliberate. The sound is tuned for the space, loud enough to move the floor without swallowing conversation at the tables ringing it.
Music runs reggaeton and Spanish-language pop early, then folds in English-language pop and house as the room fills, with resident and visiting DJs from the Mexican and international circuit. The crowd skews twenty-something and dressed, and the door enforces a formal and casual dress policy strictly.
Tables are the way in, and the best positions along the floor go to reservations made days ahead of same-night walk-ups. Doors open at 11 pm and the room does not really turn over until after midnight, running to about 2:30 am. Wednesday is the quieter locals night, Thursday builds, and Friday and Saturday are the ones that sell out.
