LooLoo Studio is the room the Mexico City electronic scene treats as home base, set behind a black marquee on Londres in Colonia Juarez. It is built for sound, not spectacle: a dark main hall, a booth set low and close to the floor so the DJ works the crowd instead of performing above it, and a laser and moving head rig that paints the ceiling instead of a stage. A second, smaller room runs its own program.
The music is the point. House, techno, deep house and experimental electronic run Thursday to Saturday from 10 pm to about 2 am, built on extended sets instead of short headline slots, while the second room leans urban with reggaeton and Spanish language pop. More than 125 international artists have played here, among them Adriatique, Jamie Jones and Maceo Plex, alongside Mexican residents. Friday and Saturday are the headline nights; Thursday is the looser, more local one.
The crowd mixes scene regulars with a dressed up Juarez and Roma set, and the door reads semi formal, so turn up dressed. Tables are numbered and picked when you book, and weekend tables for a named headliner go early.
