Salon Camarena sits inside the Palmas 555 complex in Lomas de Chapultepec and is the most theatrical room on this list. The concept borrows its name and its whole visual language from Guillermo Gonzalez Camarena, the Mexican engineer behind one of the first colour television systems, and the design runs with that: the main hall is wrapped in screens that surround the floor rather than sit at one end of it, so a set can shift the room from a black-and-white film reel to full saturation between songs.
