Contemporary Mexican and mariachi on Masaryk
Porfirio's took the Masaryk address in 2014 and turned contemporary Mexican cooking into something closer to an evening out than a meal. The room is loud in the good way, the terrace watches the most-walked stretch of Polanco, and the kitchen reworks familiar flavours, textures and aromas into plates built as much for the table as for the plate.
It is part of Grupo Anderson's, the operator behind a long line of Mexican hospitality brands, and the Porfirio's name now runs in Cancun, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Monterrey as well. The Polanco original remains the reference room. Tuna tostadas and shrimp tacos are the plates that leave the pass most often, alongside a Mexology cocktail list whose strawberry margaritas get ordered on sight.
