Taboo Polanco is a Mediterranean supper club on Avenida Masaryk, one of several Taboo rooms that also operate in Cancun, Los Cabos, Tulum and Isla Mujeres. It is built as a restaurant that becomes a night: dinner service sliding into music, with the room still full well after most kitchens close.
The kitchen answers to Greek chef Athinagoras Kostakos, winner of Top Chef Greece. Shrimp orzo, a black caccio e pepe, deconstructed pastitsio, grilled octopus, tuna tartare and salt-baked fish flambeed tableside anchor a menu built for sharing, alongside handmade Mediterranean pasta and a raw bar.
The design pairs white limestone walls that nod to Greek island architecture with handcrafted henequen lamps from Tulum artisans and a parota wood bar, plus a second-level terrace. The result is warmer and more tactile than most Masaryk dining rooms, and it holds up as the volume rises through the evening. The address puts you in the middle of Polanco's luxury retail strip, steps from Lincoln Park.
