Joia Beach is a restaurant and beach club on Biscayne Bay, set on the far west end of Jungle Island at 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail on Watson Island, between downtown Miami and South Beach. A path through jungle greenery leads to the sand, and the views across the water to the city skyline make sunset one of the best times to be here. It opened in 2020 with a design by Francois Frossard.
The club is built around three areas: The Restaurant, serving on the sand and under a palapa; The Beach, with plush chairs, cabanas and food and drink service along the shoreline; and The Lounge, where oversized loungers sit steps from the water and DJs and live entertainers play. After dark the music moves onto the sand. Saturday nights bring Joia de Vivre with DJs and performers, and Riviera Sundays carry the weekend into the night with dancing by the water.
The kitchen takes its cue from the Mediterranean, with a seasonal menu of Greek spreads, crudos and a raw bar with oysters and a seafood tower, lobster linguine, grilled branzino and a dry-aged ribeye, all paired with handcrafted cocktails. Guests can also arrive by yacht, with private tender service on request.
The dress code is upscale beach chic. Swimsuits are fine on The Beach and in The Lounge, but a cover-up is needed to enter, and the restaurant asks for shirts, bottoms and shoes.
