One-Michelin-star Thai restaurant set in a traditional Thai house in Bangkok's Dusit district
Chim by Siam Wisdom is a one-Michelin-star Thai restaurant set in a traditional Thai house in Bangkok's Dusit district. At its helm is chef Thaninthorn "Noom" Chantrawan, familiar to Thai audiences from Iron Chef Thailand, who spent fourteen years in some of London's best kitchens, including Zuma and Sketch, before returning home to cook the food of his own heritage.
The setting matches the cooking's reverence for tradition: a gracious Thai house, elegant and warmly hospitable, that frames the meal as an occasion, not a quick dinner.
The kitchen's specialty is reviving old recipes with real care. Its signature Tom Yum Plachon is built on a two-hundred-year-old formula for a tom yum that had not been cooked in over a century. Throughout, traditional Thai flavor meets refined, contemporary plating.
It is a polished choice for classical Thai fine dining with a scholarly streak, as much a study of the country's culinary history as a meal. The kitchen serves lunch and dinner daily by reservation; reserve ahead, and consider the tasting route to see the kitchen's range in full.
