Bangkok's standard-bearer for the Argentine steakhouse, and its Asok branch could hardly be more central
El Gaucho is Bangkok's standard-bearer for the Argentine steakhouse, and its Asok branch could hardly be more central - on Sukhumvit Soi 19, right beside Terminal 21 and a short walk from BTS Asok. It has built its name on doing one thing exceptionally well: premium grilled beef in the South American tradition.
The room spreads across four floors and an outside terrace, with floor-to-ceiling windows over the Sukhumvit skyline, an open kitchen sending out the smell of the grill, and stylish interiors with warm lighting throughout. The mood is convivial and unpretentious, built for a long, meat-heavy table with friends, with room for up to 278 guests across the building.
The beef comes from the US, Australia and Japan, including Wagyu, with every cut hand-trimmed by the restaurant's own butchers before it reaches the grill.
This is the dependable, unfussy choice when you want serious grilled beef without the hotel-dining-room formality. It draws a steady crowd, so booking ahead for a weekend table is the smart move - then order big and share across the cuts.
