Earned a Michelin star in the 2026 Thailand guide within months of opening
Etcha earned its first Michelin star in the 2026 Thailand guide just months after opening, a rapid rise for the borderless dining room on the 7th floor of Chatrium Grand Bangkok on Phetchaburi Road. The recognition rewarded a clear culinary identity built on creativity and technique, marking it as one of the city's most exciting new fine-dining arrivals.
The room is quietly elegant - a taupe-toned space finished with thoughtful details, from golden cutlery to handmade pottery - designed to keep the focus on the plate. It reads calm and contemporary rather than showy.
The cooking is the work of chef Giacomo Primante, who folds his Italian heritage into the richness of Thai seasonal produce across two tasting menus: an eleven-course 360 and an eight-course 180. Working closely with small-scale farmers and producers, he builds dishes that are balanced, precise and personal, letting native ingredients lead while European technique gives them shape.
This is a destination for a considered tasting-menu evening rather than a casual drop-in. Book ahead, come ready to give the menu time, and dress smart-casual for one of Bangkok's freshest boundary-crossing tables.
