Chef Sujira 'Aom' Pongmorn's modern-Thai flagship
KHAAN is chef Sujira 'Aom' Pongmorn's modern-Thai flagship, and since opening in September 2023 it has become one of Bangkok's most talked-about fine-dining tables. A Michelin Guide Selected restaurant, chef Aom had already earned a Michelin star earlier in her career leading Saawaan and was crowned the guide's first Young Chef of the Year - pedigree you taste in every course. The restaurant sits on Soi Somkid, a lane off Ploenchit in central Bangkok.
Chef Aom trained through the Oriental Hotel's apprenticeship program at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok's Lord Jim, then worked under Michelin-starred chef Henrik Yde Andersen at Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin before running the kitchen at Issaya Siamese Club. KHAAN is her own project, built around a single nightly tasting menu.
Dinner is one 11-course tasting menu, described by the restaurant as a modern gastronomic journey from Thai street food to royal cuisine, its dishes shifting with the seasonality of the ingredients.
Come for a milestone dinner or a serious food pilgrimage; the mood is smart-casual and unhurried, with a single seating each night. It is an easy walk from Chidlom and Ploenchit BTS. Dinner only, around 3,850++ THB per guest for the 11-course menu - reserve online through TableCheck well ahead.
