Cantonese restaurant on level three of Conrad Bangkok on Wireless Road
Liu is the award-winning Cantonese restaurant on level three of Conrad Bangkok at All Seasons Place on Wireless Road. It takes a contemporary approach to classics such as dim sum, barbecue and Chinese seafood, blending traditional China classics with contemporary interpretations of authentic flavor.
Executive Chinese chef Andy Fung, a Hong Kong native who began his career in 1987, leads the kitchen; the current menu credits him with a 37-year career in Chinese cuisine. Lunch runs 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM and centers on all-you-can-eat dim sum, while dinner, from 6 PM to 10 PM, turns to a la carte dishes, barbecue and roasted duck, every day of the week.
The kitchen's own menu describes its Hong Kong Style Roasted Peking Duck as traditionally marinated with salt and Chinese five-spice powder, dried for 24 hours, then roasted in a hanging duck oven. A Thai-style version with extra-crispy skin is also on the menu, alongside Hong Kong pork char siew from the barbecue, bird's nest braised with crab meat and sun-dried scallop, and live seafood cooked to the guest's preference.
The rice and congee list adds Hong Kong style snow fish congee and frog leg congee. The whole roasted duck is made to order and needs two hours notice, worth noting when the reservation is made.
