French-leaning wine bar and restaurant on the 37th floor of the Pullman Bangkok Hotel G in Silom
Scarlett is the French-leaning wine bar and restaurant on the 37th floor of the Pullman Bangkok Hotel G in Silom, a short walk from the Chong Nonsi BTS. It takes the comforts of a Parisian bistro and scales them up for altitude - a rare rooftop where the wine list and the grill are as much the draw as the height.
Inside, the room is warm and dimly lit, all low light and dark tones, while an open-air terrace runs along the edge for those who want the full skyline. The view sweeps toward the river and gives the place a sense of occasion that its easygoing prices do not otherwise advertise.
The kitchen deals in charcuterie and cheese boards, oysters, fresh seafood and, above all, dry-aged steaks pulled off a free-standing grill. Behind it sits a well-stocked wine cellar, with staff who know it well enough to steer a pairing without hovering, so a casual glass can easily become a proper bottle.
Long-running rituals keep it lively - Monday's small plates and wine special, Tuesday's dollar oysters - and the mood stays relaxed, not formal. Come at sunset for the light over the river, dress smart-casual, and book the terrace ahead if you want to eat under the open sky.
