Work of twin brothers Thomas and Mathias Suhring
Suhring is the work of twin brothers Thomas and Mathias Suhring, and in the 2026 Michelin Guide it became Thailand's second three-star restaurant and Asia's first German kitchen to reach that height. The trajectory has been relentless - a star in 2018, a second the following year, and the third crowning it in late 2025 - alongside a #11 finish on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2025.
The setting is a lovingly restored mid-century villa in the leafy Yen Akat neighborhood, warm and personal and a world away from hotel formality. It feels like being hosted for dinner in someone's home, not seated in a restaurant dining room.
The modern German tasting menu is built from family recipes, childhood memories and summers on their grandparents' farm, with traditional techniques - fermenting, pickling, curing - reworked into fine dining. A la carte additions include the kitchen's well-known spaetzle with mountain cheese and winter truffle, and the tasting menu itself changes with the seasons.
It is one of the hardest tables to book in the city, and demand only intensified with the third star. Lunch and dinner are both served Wednesday through Sunday; reserve well in advance and come ready for a personal, nostalgic take on German cooking that has no equal in Asia.
