Specialist sushi counter on Soi Sathorn, built around seafood sourced from Japan
Tenyuu Grand Omakase is a specialist sushi counter on Soi Sathorn, built around premium seafood sourced from Japan. It has earned a quiet reputation as one of the more accessible ways into Bangkok's serious omakase scene.
The room is elegant and understated, the focus on the counter and the chef working it. Service is attentive and unhurried, the kind of considered setting that suits a special dinner without tipping into formality.
Ingredients are airlifted from Japan daily, and the omakase shifts with the chef's recommendations to make the most of whatever arrives - a run of nigiri and sashimi built around the day's best catch. It is a menu that changes constantly, not a fixed list.
With courses starting around 2,000 baht, it undercuts much of the city's top-end omakase without giving up the quality that defines it. Larger set menus are built for sharing across a table of two to five, alongside the individual hand-roll and nigiri courses. Seats at the counter are limited, so reserve ahead, and go with an appetite for whatever the day's delivery brings.
