All-day French room at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, on Ratchadamri Road in downtown
The Brasserie is the all-day French room at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, on Ratchadamri Road in downtown near Lumpini Park. It brings classic brasserie cooking to one of the city's most polished hotel addresses, and has turned into a fixture for both hotel guests and Bangkok regulars.
The room is elegant and comfortable in the Waldorf mould - generous banquettes, warm light and an easy sense of occasion without stiffness. It works as smoothly for a relaxed breakfast as for a leisurely weekend lunch.
The kitchen keeps to the brasserie canon, with the Waldorf Astoria New York's classic Eggs Benedict among the signatures. The showpiece is the monthly caviar brunch: seafood towers of oysters, lobster, river prawns and scallops, and a roaming caviar trolley, all at a leisurely, celebratory pace.
That brunch lands on the first Saturday of each month from noon, and it is the reservation to plan around; the room is OpenTable-bookable, and the caviar sitting fills fast. Come hungry, and book well ahead for the monthly date.
