Water Library is a contemporary European restaurant with a genuinely serious wine program, set on the second floor of the Chamchuri Square complex in Pathumwan. Established in 2008, it has long been a destination for Bangkok's wine crowd, a room where the cellar is not an accessory to dinner but arguably the main event.
The dining room is glass-walled and coolly modernist, and its gravitational center is a walk-in cellar holding several hundred labels. The list leans hard on France, Italy and California - the last a nod to a founder who owns a Californian vineyard - and the whole space is designed to put the wine, quite literally, on display.
