Yu Ting Yuan at Four Seasons Bangkok, on the Charoenkrung riverfront
Yu Ting Yuan at Four Seasons Bangkok, on the Charoenkrung riverfront, is a Cantonese fine-dining room that opened in 2020 inside one of Bangkok's most design-forward riverside hotels, and it carries that pedigree onto the plate.
The room, designed by Jean-Michel Gathy, is elegant and light-filled, centered on an open show kitchen that puts the craft on view. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out over a reflecting pool and gardens, and the cooking stays close to Cantonese tradition while carrying a modern lightness, with the occasional Thai accent that roots it in Bangkok.
Executive chef Tommy Cheung brings serious lineage, having cooked at Hong Kong's two-star Yan Toh Heen and led the one-star Ya Ge in Taipei. His kitchen turns out handcrafted dim sum, Cantonese barbecue and Peking duck alongside tasting menus built on classics such as double-boiled fish maw soup.
Polished and gracious, it works equally well for a long lunch of dim sum or a formal riverside dinner, and it is bookable on OpenTable.
