ABar Rooftop crowns the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park on Sukhumvit Soi 22, set on the 38th floor high above the Phrom Phong district. It pairs a sleek indoor cocktail bar with a vast open-air rooftop, and strong mixology - gin in particular - anchors the whole experience.
The rooftop is the headline: an immense deck that opens to an almost 360-degree panorama of the illuminated Bangkok skyline. Seating is generous and varied, from intimate two-tops along the edge to clusters of low sofas divided by planted hedges in the central lounge, so it works equally for a quiet drink or a larger group settling in for the night.
The bar is built around a gin collection of more than 100 labels, many of them craft, poured into an extensive range of signature G&Ts and inventive cocktails. A menu of refined bar bites and small plates rounds things out for grazing between rounds.
