Medusa sits inside Palm Beach Cannes on Place Franklin Roosevelt, at the far tip of the Croisette. It works as a restaurant, cabaret and nightclub in one, a tribute to the Palm Beach's storied nights, and it opens from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., Wednesday through Sunday.
Architects Hurle-Martin designed the room around a gold-and-marble bar and a stage shared between the dining room and the large terrace, which looks out over the Lerins Islands and the Bay of Cannes. Each evening the cabaret show, Dangerous Love, fills that stage with dancers, singers, acrobats and aerialists over live music. Dinner seatings run from 9 p.m. to midnight, and the club takes over from 1 a.m.
Chef Yiannis Kioroglou cooks with international influences across land and sea. A shellfish platter with king crab, lobster and oysters, crispy crab tacos and chicken bites topped with caviar sit alongside a sushi list, lobster linguine in bisque, sole meuniere and a steak list that runs from Black Angus prime to Japanese Kagoshima beef. Cocktails draw on flavors from Latin America, the Mediterranean and Asia.
The dress code is smart elegant. Heels are required for women. Men may wear smart jeans and smart formal trainers, but ripped jeans and Bermuda shorts are not allowed, and caps, sandals, sportswear and beachwear are not permitted.
