A Paris caviar house's Dubai room in DIFC's Gate Village.
Kaspia carries the name of Caviar Kaspia, the Paris caviar house that Arcady Fixon, a Russian emigre, opened near Place de la Madeleine in 1927. The Dubai dining room occupies Gate Village Building 2, in the restaurant quarter of DIFC, and operates under the same name as the Paris original and the brand's other rooms outside France.
The kitchen follows the Paris house's French cooking with a Russian accent, built around caviar service and its classic accompaniments of blinis and smoked salmon, set alongside a wider French menu. Vodka runs through the drinks list alongside wine and cocktails, in keeping with the house's Russian emigre roots.
Sitting inside Gate Village puts the room among DIFC's towers, trading floors and galleries, a spot that works for a business lunch as easily as a longer evening. The Dubai room is one of several Caviar Kaspia has opened beyond Paris in recent years.
Kaspia is open Saturday through Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 AM, and Thursday and Friday until 2:00 AM.
